I own a white 2006 Scion tC. Since I go to college and don't really use my car as much as I used to, I don't wash my car anymore. It is white so it already gets dirty easily. There isn't that much dirt on it, it looks like the amount of dirt left over from the minerals the water leaves behind after it rains.
Will not washing my car hurt the paint? Also, would it be a good idea to wash my car and wax it then buy a car cover and put it on when I am not using my car, since it sits in the parking lot used only once a week? Thank youWill not washing my car damage the paint?
wash it when it gets dirty is what saves the paint and looks couple bucks at a car wash was wash it once a month or soWill not washing my car damage the paint?
Yes, not washing it will damage the paint. Over time the elements that settle on the paint will cause damage as you mentioned.
It's a great idea to wash it, dry it completely and allow it to dry in crevices and in between the windows and doors, wax it and cover it with a high-quality, all-weather car cover.
Yes not washing your car will damage the paintwork. Especially in the winter when it will get salt from grit under the wheel arches, causing bubbling. The paint will gradually become pitted from grim corroding the surface.
During the winter you should use a wax to seal the body from the elements. If you buy a good wax you should only need to apply it once.
Dirt and grim will scratch your paint.
