I'm not a body guy but I can offer some suggestions.
Don't spray it with a paint that will shine ( the reflection from the sun is blinding )
Make sure the paint has a flex-agent in it and is designed for plastic/vinyl painting
Make sure it's a non-fade paint.
Don't spray inside the car. Remove the dash or whatever you're painting. ( overspray is messy )
I would get seek some info from a few local and reputable auto body shops.

find an autobody supply store in your area, they will have what you need as far as adhesion promoters and everything you need to do a professional job, Vatozone and peepboys and the likes have stuff for rookies that don't know the difference
