Primer my whole car with primer spray paint.?

Im on a very low budget.. and hate the look of my car and would rather have the primer look..whats the proper way of doing this.? i just started sanding it down smoothly but need to know when is the right time to spray..?i have like 9 cans is that enough..?....im not looking for perfection..Primer my whole car with primer spray paint.?
9 cans won't even come close to a entire car.

Take it back, get your money back,

You can buy enough in bulk to do the car for less than what you will spend on cans to do the front clip.

You need an air compressor, a paint gun, and primer and activator, and paint thinner and tape.

You can go to most cheap tool stores and get a cheap paint gun for around $15-$20.

You can get a gallon of primer for about $50 and activator for $15,

Paint thinner is like $8/gal. You only need one gal sinse you will chunk the gun when done.

You can get tape for $6/roll, One should be enough for a okay job.

Get automotive tape, the houshold stuff will never come off your car

Get the paint supplies from a body shop supply, Look in the yellow pages.

Ask them how to mix the primer.

Practise spraying water on cardboard till you get the gun figured out, Learn how to adjust the gun, There are two adjustments on it, A big one on the back opposite the nozzle and a small one on the side, The big one is paint volume and the little one is pattern.

Be sure to cover EVERYTHING on your car that you don't want painted, Glass wheels trim lights handles, everything.

Primer is very forgiving so even if it's not a good paint job it should look okay as long as your tape off job is good.Primer my whole car with primer spray paint.?
try if u can to get 300.00 and buy a pint of primer and a pint of paint and rent a spray booth or rent a cup gun and compressor and use a garage.

i have seen total amatures get a decent finish but other wise use a paint prep after sanding (rubbing compound) and make sure you are well masked off and use wet sand paper after the first primer coat.
You will regret it.

The primer absorbs water like a sponge because of the way the paint powder lays on the car.

Your better off to tape the car off...(trim the tape perfectly in with a razor blade)

and roll with a cigar roller with a gloss grey paint.

Thats a cheap way of doing it.....
Once you have it as smooth as you can get it ,then prime it,now that u have it primed look to see if u see any waves that might need to be sanded out, if not go ahead and paint it.
no not enough and be for you lay the primer you need to scuff you car they make special stuff but use a brilo pad type deal to scuff the whole car down then by like 5 more cans good luck.
