What cost more, replacing a whole car bumper or getting it painted?

I have a big scratch on my front bumper (2006 honda civic) by scraping a curb. I wanna know if I should replace the whole bumper or get it painted? What cost more, replacing a whole car bumper or getting it painted?
Buf it out with some rubbing compound, get some matching spray paint then buff it out to match $20 2 hours done. Mom will never notice and if she did you can say never noticed thatWhat cost more, replacing a whole car bumper or getting it painted?
Well this might depend on where you live

The cheapest route i would think but probally the hardest is to see if any salvage yards have a bumper from a car of your year and model with the same color. Since your car is fairly new i would imagine it would be pretty hard to find.

So with that being said i would say just go paint it.

Even if i had the other route to go by i would still paint it cause i just would'nt see the point in replacing a whole bumper just for a scratch unless i was absolutely so poor i was dept up to my eyeballs.
I agree with the poster who suggested the mobile detailer. They can fix the spot and blend it in without having to remove or replace the bumper, and you'll save a lot of money. You can get the job done for around $100 and it won't take long to do. The usually do a good enough job to where the average person looking at it would never know the difference, especially if they aren't aware that they should be looking for something. Of course, as with any craft, some people are better at it than others, so you would do well to ask around a little to find one with a good reputation.
They usually remove the bumper from the car to paint it. I estimate $500-$700 for them to repair the scratch, repaint, and labor. A new bumper from the factory would have to be painted and installed on car, would cost considerably more.
It depends on how good of a job you want done. I know mobile deatailers/painters that will come out to your house, tape it off, and paint it for 100 bucks. It wont be the best job, but it is the least expensive route. You can usually go to any car dealership and ask who they use for these kinds of repairs.

A new bumper will cost you around 400-500 dollars.
If you buy a new bumper you will STILL have to have it painted, so go for the repair. Should cost less than 1/3 of replacement.
its cheaper to paint it because if you buy a new one you still might have to get it painted
