this area just had a ';snow storm'; (wintry mix) and VDOT (VA dept. of Tranposrtation) put magnesium chloride on the roads. i am thinking that that will harm the cars paint some how. will it..?Can Magnesium Chloride harm a cars paint?
YES!
There are a lot of things that will damage paint.
Brake fluid, Shaving Cream, Bologna, Salt, Acid Rain...
Just be smart and wash your car often. If the local car wash offers a Chassis Wash (under car) DO IT.
Waxing a car helps seal the Clear Coat and resist abrasives.
