Do all plastic model car kits need to be painted?

I am looking to buying a model car kit for the first time and know nothing about them. So if i buy one, will it already be painted or will i have to paint it?Do all plastic model car kits need to be painted?
MOST model car kits (99%) come with the plastic parts molded in the approximate colors... so you don't NEED to paint it.

HOWEVER, to make it look truly realistic, you WILL want to paint it. I suggest that before you buy your KIT, you go to your local model-hobby store and buy a ';beginners'; book on model car construction and painting.

The book will walk you through the tools, equipment and techniques to apply a successful paint-job as well as build the model effeciently.

GOOD LUCK and ENJOY your new HobbyDo all plastic model car kits need to be painted?
They come both ways-look closely at the box it wll tell you if it needs to be painted.
Well as a modeler for the last 20+ years i have to say this. Nothing beats realism. Sure you can not paint it and have a model thats all once color or 2, depends on the plastic. But If you take the time to detail paint the Engine, Interior and other sub assemblies you will have a very decent quality shelf model
no you can go to walmart an get one there are diffrent levels 1an 2 u don't have to paint
Depends on what you buy. You can purchase models either way. But if you buy one that needs to be painted I would reccomend washing the model in warm soapy water, then rinsing it. Then lightly sand with very fine sandpaper and rinse again. The paint does much better. Good Luck and have fun
You gotta paint it,get sand paper, really fine like 400 grit, and hit the dollar store and build it with crazy glue, crazy glue is alot faster,i have several and i learnd yrs ago that the Testors glue takes for ever and a day to dry,so crazy glue is what i use,i'm 34 years old trust me i have a glass cabinet in my house and 94 modles. So rough the parts up with the paper and shoot them, then assemble with the crazy glue.
