The process is quite long for a good repair. First, get a plastic repair kit from your favourite auto parts store. It will consist of cleaning fluid, two part epoxy and applicators. For the repair, Measure back two inches from the tear and drill two small. (1/16) holes spaced at the 1/3 area of the width of the tear. Clean and roughen the back surface of the mldg. pass a steel wire through the hole, across the back of the tear and through the other hole. Repeat for the other two holes. Apply the epoxy on the back of the mldg and a little on the cut itself. pull the wires together and twist until the tear is closed. Smear more of the epoxy on the back, being sure at least a quarter inch of wire is visible before entering the hole. Let dry for a day or two then cut the wires from the front and pull them out the back. Leave them embedded in the epoxy. Mix a little more epoxy and fill the 4 holes. After this dries, you can touch it up with touch up paint, or nail polish if you can find the same colour.A medal for How do you repair a V shape tear in a plastic molding on a car the molding is painted?
