Paint is peeling from all over the top of my car? what can i do to either repair it or make it alittle less?

to repair or alittle less noticablePaint is peeling from all over the top of my car? what can i do to either repair it or make it alittle less?
The only way to correct the problem is to have it refinished by a professional. With the clear coat pealing, the base coat is exposed and eroding. Then the primer will fail and then rust starts. It may seem expensive to repair, but it will save you a bundle in the long run.Paint is peeling from all over the top of my car? what can i do to either repair it or make it alittle less?
is it paint or clear coat? i had clear coat coming off the roof on my car and i took a razor blade and scraped it off, sanded it down and spray painted it.

  • About how much would it cost to get my car painted red? Nothing special. Just a new coat.?

Starting out at around $200 for ';Earl Sheib'; paint hjob, - (that is a ';cheapie';,- where they mask trim instead of taking it off). It depends on city, and how much competition, - right now in my area MAACO is advertising for $279, -- the ';cheapie generally uses the same paint, etc.,- but it is not a ';quality ';problem, it is fact that no matter how well it is cleaned up, there is a small amount of dust/dirt trapped right at edge of masking (becasue of adhesive on tape). Depending on where you live, and how much snow, ice, and mud you regularly drive through, - after a period of time the paint will start to peel away from edges of trim! Check locally, and see how many cars seem to have this problem, (and if possible ask when they had it painted)! Cheapie paint jobs are common in used car business, because they can present car with really nice looking paint, and no scratches (or dings)... but 2-3 years down the road, the paint starts peeling back and it doesn't look too good anymore!

For instance if your car is white and you have it painted red, it will look awful whan the paint starts peeling back! Buit if it is same color as before, - and you keep it clean and polished, it probably will be real hard to see unless you get real close and check it out!

The ';good paint job'; at same place will run about $250-350 more, but will probably still be looking good 4-5 years later! Of course, you need to remember if you plan on getting rid of it in a couple years, then ';cheapie'; paint problems arrive on next owner, - not you!

And of course the ';super'; quality paint job will run you maybe $1000 or more, - but it will be painted so well, - that you can't open doors and look in inner areas of door openings and see old color anywhere, most people won't be able to tell (if that is the origional color), unless they look at the information tag on firewall, -( which has origional paint numbers on it)!About how much would it cost to get my car painted red? well you can't just paint over the old paint you have to have it sanded down and then primed and painted and then a clear coat ,So at least a couple of 100.00.About how much would it cost to get my car painted red? Nothing special. Just a new coat.?
This will blow your mind: http://rollyourcar.com/default.aspx

There's been a few guys thats done this. Its cheap and a LOT of work due to all the sanding required.

A site where i can play with paint & rims on any car i want to.?

I can't help you with the paint but if you go to the Tire Rack website, www.tirerack.com, you might be able to check out your wheels on your car. It all depends if they have your specific vehicle in their database. If not you can possibly find a similar body style and compare the pictures that it shows you.

I put the link below.A site where i can play with paint %26amp; rims on any car i want to.?
Do you mean where you have pictures of cars and and you can click and change the colors and wheels to see how a car would look?

I do not know of such site, but I think it would be a good thing to have. Sounds like fun. Great idea.

I'm sure there's a computer program capable of doing it, probably car manufacturers use something like this. And some car manufacturers sites let you do it for the cars they sell, but not any cars, just their new cars and only for paint colors.

You can do it in Photoshop or other photo editor, of course, but you have to do it manually, get pictures of many cars, no... too much work. It will take forever to do several cars. Your idea is better. I wonder if somebody knows of something like this.

On gta sanadreas how do u customize your own car like mak it have big rims and nice interior and cool paint?

with a lot of cash and time

    Paint scraped off my car?

my mom was driving my new honda accord, and she backed up into a mailbox..but she scraped a minimal peice of the paint off..and well it's not that noticable since my car is black, but still how can i fix it up how it used to be?Paint scraped off my car?
With Touch up paint and a buffer, but if you don't know what you are doing I would get it professionally done, it probably wouldn't be much.Paint scraped off my car?
you can peel off a little chip along with your VIN # (if it's the original paint) and bring it to an auto paint or body shop and they will give you the exact type of paint you need to do it yourself (or get them to do it). Usually all black paint will be the same, no matter what but get it checked to be sure. If you want to do it, basically sand down the scratched area with a fine peice of sand paper, clean it good, then tape it off the surrounding area with a certain type of tape you can get at the auto body shop while your there. After that, buy a can of powdercoat (usually red in colour which you can pick up at canadian tire if your want) and spray a few layers, letting it dry for about 24 hours each coat. Once that's done, spray 1 or 2 layers of paint over that letting it cure for about 24 hours. Once you see that it's fully dry, take off the tape and use a buffer and buff it out to ensure a smooth finish. It takes while, but it will save you money in the end if you really want an original look. Good luck!
They sell those little bottles of auto paint at car stores like AutoZone or O'Reilly's ...

It's like a little tube of nail polish you just paint on. Since your car is black, you probably won't have trouble trying to match it. Just paint a little inconspicuous spot before you do the whole thing.

    I think they're around $12.
Buy a little jar of paint, Honda can supply you with these just go to one of their garages and enquire there.
Touch up paint may work if you do it properly and if it's not badly damaged.
I hope you're going to fix the mailbox too?
    touch up paint, duh.
go to auto zone and look for a scratch repair kit. they make them for all colored vehicles

How much is it to get a cars paint stripped then have it re-painted the same color?

maybe at a place like maacoHow much is it to get a cars paint stripped then have it re-painted the same color?
15 years ago, I had a 68 Corvette sanded down and painted the same color for $3200. It was better than average. I was happy.

Very few jobs will require paint to be stripped extensively. How much is it to get a cars paint stripped then have it re-painted the same color?
you can do a rough job in 4 hours or so with a good sander or two, simplist way is to mask off the chrome bits and pieces as well as the windows, you may have to stoop to handsanding some areas that the sander wont reach. They might give you a discount at most paint shops, find someone who has a home spray booth they might shoot it for $200 or so if you do the prep and sand work, and choose a color they like or one that is basic and cheap.
I got a paint job for my whole car priced in the beginning of the summer here in Ontario..it needed to be sanded (stripped) and repainted (no repairs)..I was quoted $5000. I can get it done for a couple of thousand, but it won't be as professional a job as the first quote. Shop around because it really varies place to place.
This is a project where if you were to purchase a good paint sprayer, you could easily do it yourself. With a little research and experimenting you can do it yourself. I stripped and painted my truck once. It was actually fun to do. I couldn't wait to get off work to get back to repainting it. I have never heard anyone say that they got a good paint job on thier car when they took to someone to do. So give it go. Good luck.
what car do you own? Remember to calculate the labor up to 5 times than the paint material cost then you can have the concept how much.

What do you need to know when giving your car a groovy paint job?

I've just gotten an super cute bright baby blue 1967 VW bug, and I've been considering painting some cool designs on it...like a sunflower here, a peace sign there...

Anyways, what is the process for that? Is there a special type of paint you have to use? Do you have to sand the car down? What are good brushes to use? Any and all info you can give would be fantastic!

Also...all though I'm totally cool with unique (code for less than perfect) designs, say I did decide to go with the stencil route...are there any good websites for finding a wide variety of stencils? I'm looking for things like flowers, leaves, suns, etc....not flames and skulls.

Thanks so much! Peace and Much Love. What do you need to know when giving your car a groovy paint job?
