Safe adhesive removal for a car that won't mess up paint job???

I took some of the molding off of my car to give it a smoother look, but now i can't get the adhesive off. I've tried everything...soap, simple green, tar remover, and adhesive remover. It won't come off no matter what i do. Does anyone know what will take it off without messing up my paint job????Safe adhesive removal for a car that won't mess up paint job???
Hairdryer/heat gun. It will soften it and combine this with some of the products others suggested like WD-40 , it should do the trickSafe adhesive removal for a car that won't mess up paint job???
I always use WD40, then wash it the area after to make sure there's none left on the paint just in case. Just spray it on the area, let it sit for a minute, then scrub, repeat a few times if necessary, then wash the area normally.
bug an tar remover , let it sit for about 10 minutes then use warm water to rub off also any house hold cleaner with enzyme will do the trick very well
try ';Goof Off'; sold in grocery stores or walmart, kmart. ect

only about $2
Razor Blade or GOO B GONE. Razor Blade is your best bet.
DO NOT USE A RAZORBLADE to remove the adhesive, if there is a sign supply place near you get something called the lil chisler, it is a very hard piece of plastic that is a scraper best thing in the world, good luck
3M ADHESIVE REMOVER
Bug and Tar Remover, apply and let it soak for a while, keep it wet and it will soften up, and you can purchase a plastic razor blade at the parts store, this will keep you from actually removing paint and just the adhesive. Wash well afterwards and apply an automotive wax, because the bug and tar remover will take off any wax you have applied to the paint as well.
Home Depot sells this stuff called Goof Off. It works great for what you are doing. I would do a small area first to make sure the paint doesn't come off. I use it to remove vinyl letters from cargo vans, and have used it for cleaning the adhesive from rubber molding on my trucks. Never had a problem with paint removal.
goo gone best
no, no, dont do any of that stuff, go get you a rubber wheel, they sell it at the hardware store or auto store, it goes in a drill. it is made exactly for this type of removal. it wont damage the paint as long as you dont press the wheel too hard, if you do you will leave a burn, but you dont go fast with it, basicaly you are erasing the stuff off of the paint.then if there is anything left use some wd40 and it will come right off, then wash the truck with soap w/ degreaser in it and water. good as new.

Not sure if this is the same thing that you have in mind, but I've brought a product that's made by Crayon and it's like a big magic marker......but it's safe to put on just about anything'; car windows, body of the car, sidewalks, house windows, homes, kid's bikes and much much more';.This stuff is washable and can easily be removed with soap and water and it comes in a pack of seven different colors......best part of all, I brought mine from Dollar Tree, but I have seen it in Staples for a whole lot more money. Hope this has helped u out.Trying to find that ';window chalk'; but looks like spray paint %26amp; can go on the entire car,not just the window
Wal Mart. It's called duplicolor car art.

How much would it cost to get decals like the ones on this car painted on mine?

They aren't painted on. They are like stickers that you place on a clean portion of a car. They will then heat up the stickers with a industrial hair-dryer once the stickers are placed. You could do these yourself but if you do it professional, the majority of the cost would go into the labor. Every place will charge differently, I suggest you call them up if you really want to know instead of asking for an unreliable answer from amateurs and ignorant people who could give you the slightest reliable and constructive answers. How much would it cost to get decals like the ones on this car painted on mine?
you dont paint on decals. they stick on like stickers. look on jcwhitney.com for decals. its where i get all my auto accessories. heres what youre lookin for though http://www.ridergraphix.com/charger.html

looks like itll be a bit over 200 unless you decide to get the rally stripe as well
Depends where you go to get them.....i got mine done at this professional shop for 70$.One pointer, don't go cheap, it mite ruin your car if u don't like them anymore and decide to take them off.
um... decals are stickers... not paint. but if u want that painted on your car id say around $200
depends where you are some places charge more than others

Legal tints and matte paint jobs for cars?

I live in New Jersey and I want to get tinted windows in my windshield and my font side windows,

1. Can I do this?

2. What are the legal limits?

3. Do people tint their front side and not their back sides? Is that normal?

4. I was searching ';black matte painting'; for cars but I only seemed to get results in Europe! Can I get this done in New Jersey?Legal tints and matte paint jobs for cars?
';I want to get tinted windows in my windshield';

No.

2. Call a shop and ask.

3. Yes, but it looks ridiculous.

4. You can paint a car any color you want. Just tell them you want flat black.Legal tints and matte paint jobs for cars?
The regs for window tinting are different in most states. Therefore it would be best to consult with a specialty body shop doing this as they would know the regs. One other thing is to sit in several vehicles with different levels of tint so you can actually see the effects of the tinting on light loss. This is critical at night as the tinting reduces amount of reflected light thereby making more objects harder to see in the dark.

Matte paint on the exterior of a vehicle is not a good idea. It is hard to clean and keep clean and also increases drag. If it's what you really want then ok. Most body shops can do this type of paint job.
tinting the windshield is illegal and anything over 50% light is illegal when tinting but i have never been pulled over for my illegal tint

matte paint just go to a paint shop

    Paint for a a car?

I have a 91 toyota camry and i wanted to buy paint on e-bay. but i dont know how much to buy. should i buy a gallon? should i buy a pint? what should i do? and what is the best type of paint. I dont want spray paint NOOOOO i want nice paint... which is the best kind? PLEASE HELP. and how do i sand my car? do they sell stuff for that on wall-mart?

-Angela OchoaPaint for a a car?
Its a lot of work. I have done everything on my '71 Buick Riviera, but I left the paint and body to the pros. I bought PPG paint from a specialty store. It was $600 a gallon and my big car needed 2 gallons. That plus good clear coat was $290. Primer, bondo, sandpaper and various other related costs brought the total to $2000 just for materials. I then paid 3k for labor. I would go to Maaco if you want a cheap paint job for an old car. I got a paint job that will look great for 10-20 years. I don't think you will have that camry that long.Paint for a a car?
    house of kolor

no i havnt spelt it wrong lol
if you a realy serious about painting your car you need some prep work...like buying how to books from peterson publications....it would be better to go to your local auto parts for paint and materials...as they are pro's and will set you up with everything you need! also todays paints are very dangerous! you need an outside air source to avoid lung and nerve damage! like i said YOU need to read a lot before painting! but dont be afraid you can do it! remember the best paint job will look horrable without good body prep!
go to your local Toyota Dealership and ask them. They will point you in the right direction.

Also check your local auto parts store for automotive paint.

Need help with paint job on my car!!!!?

I bought a 95 white honda civic. the previous owner painted the car dark purple. i think he painted it over the white. now u can see some of the white paint. how do i get the car white again??Need help with paint job on my car!!!!?
Sand and repaint.Need help with paint job on my car!!!!?
Take it to maaco. Explain the problem and they will give you a free estimate on how much it will cost.

If thats not in your price range, you are going to need to properly sand all the paint of. Cover it with a primer coat or two, and then paint it over with high quality auto paint. However if you do it yourself, i guarantee it will not look professional. It's a very hard process.
The paint has to be stripped and re-painted. In my area, to do a complete paint job is $2,000.
    Sand, prime, repaint
